About Me:
I've been dragged into this backward. I was putzing along, helping people start co-ops and minding my own business when God waylaid me in some cave in New Mexico. Later, I was set up to write a book called "Holy Cooperation!" which is due out this summer. And now, God took my home and possessions by way of a severe yarrow allergy and Psalm 32, and I've been sent back to my hometown. Can't complain.

confession

In case anyone is wondering, I got a great opportunity to make that confession that was thwarted in Italy. It was on a high cliff over my favorite river after hanging out with the feral chickens of Fair Oaks, and before a massage.

God is great!

Going Deeper

I went back to Cattedrale del Duomo and found out it was way deeper than I had imagined on Sunday. It was mostly empty and so I was able to walk around more and look at some of the really incredible artwork, which was often layered. For example, a large carved piece was partially covering a faded fresco. There were also signs of numerous repair jobs. The massive canopy over the altar, with spiral columns that were more than a foot thick and several stories high, was nearly 300 years old, judging… Continue

Adventures with God in Italy

Greetings and blessings from Italy. I’m mostly recording my experiences on my other blog, but I have a couple of adventures that feel like they are better meant for this audience.
On my second morning in Trentino I was once again up early (my jet lag mitigation plan apparently hadn’t fully worked). I was also fighting off one of the various colds that have been brought here from all over the world, but even so I got restless and decided to get up and walk around at dawn before my conference got… Continue

Some lovegarden specifics

A while ago, too long ago, I posted here about one of my many hare-brained schemes, which in this case was that faith communities should be finding underused land (including perhaps churchyard lawns) and putting it into food production.
The idea is becoming more relevant and urgent by the day. As the wheels come off the global economy, we're going to need to grow more of our own food. We can't tell how bad it's going to get, but I think that it's pretty safe to assume that it will get bad.
I thi… Continue

New blog!

Hi folks. I just started a blog at www.holycooperation.blogspot.com. I thought about doing it here, but it's going to be a more general thing. I'll keep this blog for my somewhat more spiritual musings.

And on that note. Things have been really amazing. God just keeps on confirming that I'm in over my head. It's been a great opportunity to humble myself and realize that I'm called to do more than I can do by myself.

In the words of the immortal Elwood Blues, "We're on a mission from Gahd."

Hi Andrew,

I like the Lovegardens idea. That is just the kind of thing that we hope the Lockridge Community Garden will become. It was begun on the land of an Angliican church and has now migrated to Crown Land next door. We are just gearing up for beginning to educate people on food growing and building food security for Lockridge.

Peace to You,

Harry
