G'day MS crews, thought you might be interested with this: http://blog.sojo.net/2009/05/29/god-is-not-and-has-never-been-white-biblical-post-colonial-theology/ I’ve written this article for "God's Politics" blog to share the amazing (and sadly oft…

Profile Information

Hometown:
Perth, Western Australia
Relationship Status:
Single
About Me:
recovering consumer, guerilla grace gardener, dumpster diver, peace preaching eco-evangelist, larrikin seditionist, lamenting (yet laughing) liturgist, neo-Anabaptist, trainer of activists, secret artist, one day want-a-be permaculturalist and seeker of the one who has birthed a transformed world... Jesus.

I'm also a founding member of the Peace Tree Christian Commune in one our cities lowest socio-economic areas. We are the crazy love child of the Early Quakers, the Catholic Worker Movement, the Anabaptists and other groups which have lived lives like LOVE HAS STARTED THE TRANSFORMATION OF ALL THINGS, not through a military leader armed with bombs but through a crucified servant armed with a towel.

I’m also the founder of EPYC (Empowering Peacemakers in Your Community). Here’s shout-outs from Shane [Claiborne] on EPYC:

"One of the doctors I met in Iraq said (with tears in his eyes), ‘This violence is for people who have lost their imagination.’ Jarrod McKenna and the good people of EPYC are prophets of imagination. They are on a mission to create new heroes and sheroes and to reclaim God’s dream for this world. And as they help young folks to learn not to hurt each other, hopefully the nations will take some lessons."

What are the creative examples that give you hope?
a new friend who sleeps on the street because of his pain, bought me food I’m ethically opposed to cause he thought I might be hungry this late at night... what a sweet communion and way to build community. Our hope is Christ revealed in those who are despised by the world.
What are your most pressing concerns about the world and the church?
Global warming, gurus, global military growth complex, poverty, pious activists, lack of lament, lack of praise, lack of imagination, lack of love, lack of wonder, lack of worship and lack of awe... lack of living God's love like our Lord Jesus
What is your favorite way to celebrate?
Dumpster diving feasts!!! Food recued and redeemed from being supermarket fleshpots transformed into the bread of God’s Tomorrow
Give us one word of hope.

I’ve written this article for "God's Politics" blog to share the amazing (and sadly often unknown!) contributions of Australian Aboriginal theologies. It has had a profound effect of me and the Peace Tree Community. Please… Continue

Fruits of Kiwi kingdom conspiracies!

the mutards seeds spread!!! Today Peace Tree's Kiwi mates Manu and Sam have been causing some Christ-like trouble for the systems that are yet to submit to the reality of a nonviolent world that is ours in the resurrection. Here's the press and some photos. Keep them in ya prayers:
