My history in community includes, roughly, two years with the famous (now infamous?) Jesus People USA, in Chicago. Those two years, though, were separated by about nine years of a kind of an exile in Toledo, OH; where i enjoyed a mini career as a pizza delivery dude for about as long as my back could stand it. During that same time i also became, officially, an Amway Distributor; but in reality was merely an Amway consumer. I had some fun times in some pricey resort locales, but also got seduced by the prosperity gospel as part and parcel of my business; another story for another time perhaps?

What are the creative examples that give you hope?

The seemingly boundless creativity of our many worship bands in and around my home fellowship of Mars Hill Church give me some hope.

What are your most pressing concerns about the world and the church?

The Slave Trade as it continues around the world; and the continuing influence of the false gospel of prosperity are two i can name, quickly.

What is your favorite way to celebrate?

I enjoy the company of a few friends, a couple of good beers, and some live music.

Jesus, literally, would be my one word. He has not abandoned us to the tyrany of our fleshly desires, not yet, anyway..
