Profile Information

Hometown:
Bakersfield, CA
Relationship Status:
Single
About Me:
Starting in August, I will be living in a Christian community house in East Austin. My housemates and I will be corporately working a community garden down the street.

In my free time I'll be teaching worldview, Logic, and American history to kids at a school on the southside.

btw, we will have an opne room in the house at least through December if anyone is interested.
What are the creative examples that give you hope?
L'Arche in Trosly-Breuil, France; Polyface Farms in Charlottesville, VA; and New Jerusalem in Philadelphia, PA
What are your most pressing concerns about the world and the church?
The ingrained belief that each can exist in peace without the other. If ever there was a time when faith communitirs need to get out and discover the world and for the world to recognize the value of its faith communities for community life, it is now.
What is your favorite way to celebrate?
Over a very homemade (or Farmers Market) meal with loads of friends.
Give us one word of hope.
The Spirit and the Bride say come

Papa-fest - man, I wish I could have gone. My family from PR was in town. I heard good reviews from the content of the festival and not-so good on how homogeneous it was. What was your experience?

Peace,

Things are good! I have two tomato plants struggling in containers on my very small balcony, and some bottleneck squash wishing their pot was bigger. Apartment living is rough for agriculture:)

At MSA, we just had our Celtic Retreat on the land at Camano Island, which was a blast! I'm looking forward to the development of that community.

Glad you're on the ning!

This last saturday we built 7 raised garden beds that will soo be planted. In addition, we will have 300-350 sq ft down at the community garden for additional planting. I was also just hired on at a local organ farm up the street from my house. I suppose my plans moved in the agrarian direction faster than I had anticipated.

Hey there! I remember you from the conference! How's community and urban farming going for you?

We just had another meeting today. The house is going to be great, though it will take 10 years to do all we'd like. I'm quickly becoming an urban farmer and may move seriously in that direction after the house is well along. We decided to commit only for a year to begin and then to reasess. if all goes well, I think we will make some more drastic changes to our lifestyle.

For the while, I'm still meeting many people in the neighborhood and growing in love with them. Krista and Blake have started a regiment of morning prayers from the Anglican book of common prayer whirch we will all take up togetehr once they move in.

That's me; how's your house coming along? I was surprised not to see any of you at PAPA-fest.
